Clayton Suares – Development Team Leader
Where did you work/what did you do before joining Invocas?
Before joining Invocas about a year ago, I worked for a mortgage brokers in Glasgow city centre as a senior systems developer. The problems caused by the recent credit crunch made this an uncertain company to work for, so the opportunity to move to a more secure company but remain in the financial sector with Invocas was definitely the right move to make.
What does your current role involve?
I started with Invocas as a systems developer and soon became aware that the company had some radical ideas about how to operate in the area of debt management. This quickly resulted in working on a number of projects to streamline the company's processes and allow better interaction with customers.
Since then, further changes in the company have opened up the opportunity to lead a team of developers working across a number of technical disciplines. In addition to the technical day-to-day work involving the development of the company systems, my role involves directing and co-ordinating the development team's project work in an effort to safely implement projects in as short a time as possible.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The most enjoyable part of the job is the diverse nature of it. Working on both internal and external facing projects allows interaction with all areas of the company, its business partners and customers.
What do you like best about working for Invocas?
From my experience, I can say that Invocas recognises and rewards hard work and original thinking from its employees.
