Business Analyst
- To contribute to the delivery of the Change Programme within Invocas, in order to achieve business benefits targeted and deliver company strategy.
- Establishing and agree business requirements from different stakeholders in line with project scope and objectives
- Redesigning and implementation of business processes, in conjunction with relevant end users and management teams
- Managing small to medium scale projects, potentially involving 3rd party suppliers
- Working with our external partners on design and development of new software and services propositions
- Coordinating and managing activities relating to development, testing, implementation and transition to 'business as usual' of systems changes, to ensure the successful implementation and realisation of benefits within Invocas Financial
- Gather and document business requirements across multiple stakeholders and areas of the company, at all levels
- Working with relevant parties manage the redesign of changes to company processes and implementation of new processes, this may include facilitation of workshops involving stakeholders at all levels of the business
- Plan and manage small to medium sized projects to required timescales and costs - a hands on approach to project management is required
- Communication of project progress to various stakeholders
- Co-ordinate internal testing activity (UAT / regression), including co-ordination of involvement of end users, ensuring testing activity is adequately resourced and documented
- Manage resolution of any defects and retesting activity, including production of any required statistics
- Obtain sign-off for implementation from relevant business areas
- Manage implementation communications with end users
- Resolution of any post implementation issues
- Escalate critical issues and major change requests as appropriate
- Ensure any key decisions and recommendations that are made are notified to your Manager
- Identify training needs, ensuring delivery of required training
- Produce training documentation when required
- Update or produce, when required, policy procedural documentation
- Extensive and proven business analysis experience, preferably in a financial services environment, involving complex systems environments, across multiple products and geographical locations
- Experience of managing small to medium sized projects from the business side, coordinating involvement of multiple business areas such as marketing, IT, Customer Services
- Business analysis or project management experience focussed on delivery of solutions or services to external parties
- Demonstrable understanding of software testing principles, including developing test strategies, plans and scripts and test execution
- Proven ability to take a concept from the initial idea and deliver through to implementation
- Demonstrable experience of leading test teams and coordinating end user testing
- Demonstrable knowledge of project and change management processes and methodologies, e.g. Prince2
- Appreciation for the wider impact of systems change on organisations and people, with demonstrable experience of dealing with the issues this can involve
- Broad awareness of financial services product features and rules
- Experience of developments involving 3rd party software highly desirable
- Experience of using the MS Office suite
- Delivery of high quality technical solutions in response to business requirements
- Provision of estimates for new development requests and contribution to the project planning process
- Testing of solutions through unit, integration, system testing phases
- Management of changes through various develop and test environments, into live
- Contribution to end to end solution design
- Delivery of fixes for live production issues
- Liaise with 3rd party IT providers as necessary to deliver project requirements
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of best practices within the development team

- Liaise with end users as required during UAT and post live phases of projects
- Proven track record of delivery within a fast paced development environment
- Sound experience of development projects involving solutions that span multiple systems and technologies

- Commercial experience of Microsoft .NET (C#.Net/VB.Net/ASP.Net/ADO.Net) up to v3.5
- Commercial experience of SQL Server 2005/2008, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, UDFs, SQL Server Management Studio, Database Security and Integration Services
- Good working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Web Services, XML and SQL Reporting Services
- Good knowledge of Database Tuning and Maintenance
- Good HTML/CSS design skills
- Experience of working within a development team within the financial services market

- Working with 2 accounts assistants to complete the data entry and ledgers for all Group companies (providing cover where necessary)
- Prepare Ledgers to Trial Balance
- Investigating and resolving nominal and purchase ledger queries
- Reviewing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparing accruals and prepayments
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing fixed asset registers
- Intercompany invoicing, recharges and reconciliations
- Essential: Experience of working in busy finance team
- Essential: Part-qualified ACCA / CIMA
- Desirable: Sage Line 50, Practice Engine, Advanced Excel
- Day to day management of the new business process, including work allocation and scheduling, progress monitoring and issue resolution
- Hands on involvement in day to day tasks where necessary to ensure swift conversion of new business opportunities
- Ensure interfaces to other departments involved in the new business process e.g. Sales, operate smoothly and efficiently
- Proactively monitoring performance of the new business operation against agreed SLAs, and taking remedial action to resolve any issues in meeting targets
- Ensuring updates on case progression are provided to relevant partners in a timely manner and in agreed formats
- Identifying and implementing improvements to enhance the new business process
- Ensuring feedback on performance is given to our work provider partners and feedback from our partners is acted upon
- Production of regular invoicing information to enable payment of partner fees
- The role will not involve any direct line management, however the job holder will be expected to contribute to the leadership and development of staff involved in the new business process
- Essential: Extensive experience of performing a similar role, ideally in a Financial Services environment
